Iconic AW15 Fashion Trends

Zizzle went down to the Iconic AW15 Launch In Tribeca Dubai and we were really impressed with the new collection! There were a few key fashion trends spotted, a collection with something for everyone.

The Mod Modernism collection was very 60’s inspired, A-line dresses were scattered about in monochrome prints juxtaposed with midi skirts and tailored jackets in yellow and blue hues.

Another Iconic fashion trend this season is the Neo Sports look made up of day and sportswear with a luxe feel to it in bonded mesh, scuba and lasercuts. The metallic silver pieces gave a galactic feel to the 90’s inspired collection. I loved the Military Tribe trend pieces, olive green really suits caramel skintones and the military inspired jumpsuit was definitely my favourite piece of the collection. The Dark Delicacy pieces were extremely glamorous in rich lace and velvet with intricate beading to embellish. It was certainly the most lavish of trends.

This was my favourite collection from Iconic, it is so versatile and you can pick anything from edgy club-wear to elegant evening gowns. The tailored jackets and dresses were perfect for business chic and my wardrobe has quite a few new additions from the AW15 collection which I can’t wait to wear!

It was my first time going to the Dubai Gold Cup in Meydan and it was so much fun! People really made an effort to dress for the occasion and I was amazed while scouring the crowd at the dresses, suits and incredible fascinators and hats. They had the Jaguar style stakes where the best dressed won a Jaguar for a year. I loved Natalia Shustovas outfit, I felt she was a more deserving winner of best dressed but she won best hat. Sophia Ismayeva was also a favourite for me, she rocked that royal blue like a queen and I’m not just saying that because she’s my buddy :p

The races were really fun to watch live, the horses whizzed past us at lightning speed. When Sheikh Hamdan’s horse “Prince Bishop” won, the crowd went wild and the fireworks display began. It was the best display I had ever seen, it lasted a full 10 minutes and featured UAE flags, hearts and they even managed to spell out UAE in fireworks, it really was breath-taking and Kylie Minogue was the icing on the cake. She performed a fabulous set laced with classics such as I Should Be So Lucky and Spinning Around as well as tracks from her new Kiss Me Once Album. What a great day out!

London Fashion Week

On the 19th September I went to London Fashion Week at Somerset house. I love attending Fashion events and this was so last minute I didn’t really get time to get an outfit together so I woke up bright and early and began viewing my options. My mum had this beautiful red vintage coat probably from when she was my age but it still looked brand new! I decided that would be my statement piece and I think monochrome really makes red pop so thats what I went with. I even managed to match one of my nails to my dress haha and then just finished off with some nice chunky jewellery.

I arrived at 11am and was supposed to watch the PPQ runway show however they cancelled it which was annoying 😦 they gave me tickets to a “Trends Show” instead which was pretty good so I was back in good spirits. As it was the end of fashion week they put together a show of the most popular trends, Pretty In Pink, Back to Nature, Victorian and Mixing Prints. My favourite was the brown ombre textured jumpsuit, I want it!!

While watching the show, you could charge your phone under your seat! I love how they took all the bloggers and journalists into consideration, they even had phone charging stations all over the event which was sponsored by Vodafone.

Somerset house had been transformed into a 2 storey shoppers paradise, labels such as Vivienne Westwood, Gucci and Prada were available at up to 50% off and they had some beautiful boutiques. The jewellery was stunning and I loved some of the hat and accessory boutiques. Of course I had the best time in the shoe and bag department, I was lucky enough to bump into Mo Helmi while I was admiring his sparkly creations. He recently opened a concession in Dubai Mall’s Shoe District and he really has some amazing pieces.

I got lots of goodies which you can read about in the beauty section so I’ll finish with my highlight which was the talk by a few members of the Elle Team, it was inspiring and uplifting and they were so young and had already worked at all the biggest fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harpers Bazaar! I got involved in the Q&A session and got to the bottom of  a few things, mapping out my next route in life as I write lol. I absolutely loved Antonia O’Briens satin get-up, she was at the top of my best dressed list, it was unusual and simple and classy which are 3 ingredients for a great outfit.

I finished with a divine massage and chocolate bars in the Kinder Bueno lounge, definitely another highlight!

It was a great day out filled with things I love, you can read reviews of my new Maybelline makeup, Label M hair products and Beauty in treats on the beauty page!
