Fashion Forward kicked off yesterday with an amazing line-up, Zareena and Hussein Bazaza were among the designers showcased yesterday and the night ended with Michael Cinco’s dazzling collection.
As soon as the first model walked down the runway in a fully embellished red ombre dress, I gasped! I love how Michael Cinco constructs his dresses and as she walked into the laser beams it looked as though the dress carried itself. A few more gorgeous red gowns followed and the two beautiful white wedding gowns with Michael Cinco’s signature peekaboo cutwork.
Black dresses followed with gorgeous lace detail, I loved the movement in the two floor length satin gowns and the very risque gowns which were transparent with bead-work all over, they flashed without flashing you. Then a new theme emerged, one that took me back to Barcelona, I suddenly remembered the Sagrada Familias stunning stained glass windows as these black dresses with gorgeous panels of colour strutted down the runway. The finale was insane, It was so creative, windows of colour on a cape-like train surrounded by the other paneled outfits. It was a visual feast and Michael Cinco certainly set a very good tone for Fashion Forward SS16.
The Emporio Armani Autumn/Holiday 2015 collection continues the brand’s journey into Innovative watch design. The designs are updated interpretations of classic pieces.
The ladies watches are minimal and sleek with men’s platforms interpreted into women’s versions. The colour palette brings an Autumn freshness. Black and gold run throughout, giving the collection a glamorous look.
The new men’s styles feature a sporty, ultra-dynamic case. The powerful design, with the crown protector and separate bezel, allows to play with different colours and materials such as rubber and aluminium.

Zizzle went down to the Iconic AW15 Launch In Tribeca Dubai and we were really impressed with the new collection! There were a few key fashion trends spotted, a collection with something for everyone.
The Mod Modernism collection was very 60’s inspired, A-line dresses were scattered about in monochrome prints juxtaposed with midi skirts and tailored jackets in yellow and blue hues.
Another Iconic fashion trend this season is the Neo Sports look made up of day and sportswear with a luxe feel to it in bonded mesh, scuba and lasercuts. The metallic silver pieces gave a galactic feel to the 90’s inspired collection. I loved the Military Tribe trend pieces, olive green really suits caramel skintones and the military inspired jumpsuit was definitely my favourite piece of the collection. The Dark Delicacy pieces were extremely glamorous in rich lace and velvet with intricate beading to embellish. It was certainly the most lavish of trends.
This was my favourite collection from Iconic, it is so versatile and you can pick anything from edgy club-wear to elegant evening gowns. The tailored jackets and dresses were perfect for business chic and my wardrobe has quite a few new additions from the AW15 collection which I can’t wait to wear!
Dune previews are always highly anticipated for me, I don’t know whether that’s just the London girl in me but I think its because they always have really nice collections that are always conceptual and completely different to the last. This season had an apparent seventies influence with rounded saddle bags in rich chestnut and berry croc. The different shapes and textures were also reminiscent of the seventies. The deep auburn, navy and brown tones were suggestive of autumn and the beautiful nude hues played with the idea of bareness in an opulent season.
The collection has something for everyone, whether your a modern girl who loves colour blocking and in your face prints or a classic girl looking for a brushed saffiano leather tote. The beautiful velvet clutches embellished with brooches and feathers may speak to the flapper girl within, its a must see collection and you are likely to find a bag perfect for you.
The shoes very much mirror the bag trends, from casual ankle boots to embellished stilettos and mesh detailed pumps. A predominantly autumn palette however this collection spoke to the all-year-round open shoe wearing Dubai girl in me. There were wedges, platform stilettos and even clogs…I don’t think I could pull of the clogs but they would definitely look great on the right girl.
Plums and burgundies are my favourite autumn hues and I love my customised Zizzleblog croc bag, its small but has pockets for EVERYTHING and it comes in a variety of prints and textures, head to your nearest Dune store to find your perfect accessory!
Over Ramadan I got familiar with some of the regions modest wear boutiques, from jalabiyas to Shaylas, here are a few you can check out before Eid Al Adha comes around in September, the great thing is if you like an item you can tweek it and get something customised for yourself.
We got chatting to Zuweina of Zouzou Couture who has a fantastic range of Jalabiyas, she has a very unique and colourful collection amongst other apparel and also a childrens clothing line. She gave us the scoop on why Zouzou is so unique, and her inspiration behind the brand “I started doing this seriously in March, I have always loved clothes and have always had a tailor as I find shopping difficult because things are too big or too small and I thought if Im going through this then other people must be too so I decided to start ZouZou Couture. You can buy our clothes on our website or here in the workshop (details on website). What’s different with me is I don’t mass produce, they are unique pieces because I don’t believe in uniforms. Most things in shops are mass produced and everybody is wearing them so I design my own pieces by looking at the fabric and deciding what to do with it. My abayas are really colourful with different colour combinations, I wanted them to be more modern. We also make evening and wedding dresses and couture.
Her collection has only been around since March and already selling out fast! You can even make orders via her whatsapp and pay cash on delivery
We met Mariam who created the brand Lamiah, her scarves were beautifully hand embroidered with intricate stone work and cut work amongst other designs. They can bring to life any outfit, adding a little sparkle for the evening or simply making a statement with some of the bolder, colourful designs. Lamiah is a design house which specializes in making exclusive handmade shaylas, hijabs and swarovski scarves. You can check out more designs on the Facebook page and place your orders there.

I am forever looking for hair products to tame my mane, I have crazy in-between wavy and curly hair with crazy amounts of volume and in the summer plenty of frizz…not a good combination. When I lived in Peru locals often called me “Cabello de leon” which means Lion hair so you can only imagine my loco hair. I tried the amazing Mythic Oil Serum from L’oreal and its really good, I tried it on wet hair and then tied it up to let it dry into curls hoping it would eliminate the frizz when it dried, and its pretty smooth! I added a little more when it was dry through the ends to give it some more texture and I’m really happy with the results.
Yesterday I used it after blow-drying my hair and it gave it a really nice shiny finish and gave definition to my waves. It has a 24-hour ability to smooth and protect hair from the effects of extreme heat, humidity and frizziness, L’Oréal Professionnel’s Mythic Oil Serum is great for the Middle East’s crazy heat. You can buy it in salons and the couture edition is priced at 130AED or 180AED for the regular edition.
The Jewel Edition bottle of Mythic Oil has a gorgeous, sparkling gift that captures the very essence of its sumptuous experience. I love the richness of the product and you only need a very small amount to get the desired effect! Speaking of effects I thought I would share this seasons looks from L’oreal. The 70’s brit pop shag layers cut is dominating runways as seen on British model Eddie Campbell. The beauty is in its versatility giving you the option to wear it fluffy, messy or tousled.
Red is the key colour trend to pair with the cut, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Vanessa Hudgens have all been sporting it. I love red highlights but I hate how quickly the colour fades so I am really excited to try L’Oreals Carmine red highlights which contains a patented formula to provide an intense red that doesn’t fade!
I have had my eye on this bag since I saw it at the Call It Spring SS15 launch and both times I went to get it, it was out of stock and then last week I was in Abu Dhabi and I saw it AND it was on sale!!! See…everything happens for a reason. I love it, tassels are all the rage this season and I love that it’s a backpack because let’s face it cute backpacks are rare. Wooooooooohoooooo!
Call It Spring is one of my favourite shoe shops, affordable, trendy and most importantly comfortable!! Their new collection was my favourite one yet and it was unveiled in the most amazing setting. We were aboard a beautiful yacht in Dubai Marina and as we sailed into the sunset we got to walk around and look at the wonderful displays. The collaborative collection with Mike Perry was so colourful and perfect for Spring. Some of my favourite pieces from the SS15 collection included the knee length Gladiator sandals and of course the amazing rucksack with fringing and a multicoloured eagle embellishment (Pictured above)-can’t wait to get my hands on that bag! It reminds me of something Peruvian given a rockstar makeover and Its such a wearable, versatile piece.
Lets talk about the party, I arrived on the yacht to be greeted by paparazzi happy snapping away and soon the yacht was full with Dubai’s glitterati, the DJ was on deck playing smooth R&B grooves and as the sun went down everybody got up on the dance floor and there was some amazing dance-offs! Some professional dancers also performed for us and I also got my groove on for a bit. It was a really nice opportunity to get to know the other bloggers a bit better, most of the time you come to an event, get your info and pics, see whoever is there while you are, and leave but this one was nice because you got to mingle, all the bloggers and brand managers were there and being on a yacht…nobody could leave haha. I don’t think anybody wanted to, my only criticism was that it ended too soon, I think we all had a wonderful time and wanted to party longer. For me it was one of the best collection launches I have attended in my four years of blogging, I can’t wait for the next one!
