I believe to live fully we must take chances and explore the paths that lead to discovery. Doing things out of your comfort zone are real experiences – doing things that make you feel things that you have never felt before. I am completely living my life for this moment and I feel gratitude and love every single day which in turn breeds real happiness in the pit of my soul. Gratitude is very important, it is what makes the divide between a fleeting moment and a treasured experience because you take time to look back on it with appreciation.
Take a moment in your day to do something completely random whether it be high fiving a stranger or booking a flight to somewhere you can’t imagine being. That buzz you feel is positive energy which will resonate throughout your day as long you keep smiling back at that moment and once you fill your life with that positive energy you will invite your dreams to you. Happy Friday!

I’m currently reading “Like the Flowing River” by Paulo Coelho, Its a book filled with short stories and they all have valuable morals. I loved this little gem so I thought I would share it with you:
A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point he asked:
‘Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?’
His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:
I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.’
Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn’t seem very special.
‘But it’s just like any other pencil I’ve ever seen!’
‘That depends on how you look at things. It has five qualities which, if you manage to hang on them, will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.’
‘First quality: you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand God, and He always guides us according to His will.’
‘Second quality: now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpner. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterwards, he’s much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.
‘Third quality: the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.’
‘Fourth quality: what really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.’
‘Finally, the pencil’s fifth quality: it always leaves a mark. in just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action’
Its been a while since I wrote a personal blog, but today I finally got a little “me time” so I thought I would write to you. It was my birthday on the 27th, I turned 24!! I guess its something to be excited about but this year I didn’t feel like celebrating, my first bday without my grandma, my grandfather is in hospital and then there was the fact that I didn’t know what I was celebrating this year. I felt like I didn’t deserve to celebrate because every year I set myself goals and this year the majority have been unfulfilled which SUCKS. I guess I felt inadequate and that my potential has been unfulfilled. Sometimes in life things don’t go our way, regardless of how positive we are or how much we believe, some things perhaps are not meant for us or maybe they are just not meant for us now. By foccussing on everything I haven’t accomplished I was being negative and forgot all the things I have. Sometimes when we have a negative spiral of thoughts we have to flip them on their head and think on a different level to see things more clearly. I have this book where I write quotes I like, and I opened this one the other day,
“Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant gorgeous, talented and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear our presence automatically liberate others.”
Well after reading that, the light and positivity jumped back into me and the doubts all vanished, its amazing how words off a page can really speak to us sometimes. I don’t understand why I felt it was too late to accomplish what I wanted, I’m not where I imagined I would be at 24 but theres still a whole year of 24 left and then theres 25 and 26 and 27 etc lol (hopefully anyways haha 🙂
As long as we are here it’s never too late so 24 is gonna be about trying harder and making my dreams come true! Hope that little passage put some fire back in your belly too!
Lots of Love,
Pablo Picasso once said, “God is really only another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant and the cat. He has no real style. He just keeps on trying other things.”
When we start working on our dreams, we always feel afraid. We wonder if there are rules to follow. Who comes up with these rules, while we all live such different lives? If God created the giraffe, the elephant and the cat, and we try to learn from his example, then why would we try to follow one rule or another?
Sometimes rules help us avoid the mistakes others have made before our time, but more often than not a rule will only make us repeat what someone else has already done.
Rest assured. Trust the universe, and look forward to surprising yourself.
The wise understand that repetition has a cause: to teach the lesson that still needs teaching. Repetitive situations require different solutions every time. The one who fails must not see this as a mistake, but rather as a step toward greater self knowledge.
It’s like Thomas Watson said, “Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure.”

Time is already flying by so lets make this year one to remember. This year focus on your success and happiness which comes in different forms for all of us. I know a lot of us get sucked in by the material world we live in and we often mistake a moment of joy for true happiness. This year focus on being truly happy, the feeling you get when you laugh or smile and you feel it in the pit of your stomach. Obviously its not gonna be there all the time but its your job to maintain that. True happiness comes in the simplest ways, try to help others and see how it makes you feel. I believe the purest form of happiness comes from being selfless. when we’re not trying to please ourselves we inadvertently do and that’s when you feel a different kind of happiness and more importantly a purpose, the two are intertwined. When we feel we don’t have a purpose we feel depressed and begin to wonder why we are here.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” – Henry Ford
In other words, whatever you believe is what you will attract. Keep your eyes set on what you want and work towards it. Don’t be afraid to fail because that can also hold you back, just know whatever you want to do, you can do it and it it goes wrong you are equipped to deal with it. Always remember life is a test, we are only given what we can handle!
“Unless you’re willing to have a go, fail miserably, and have another go, success won’t happen.”
As I lay there, the world felt as though it stood still but only the ebb and flow off the tide remained. I lay on the shoreline with the waves lapping against my feet and my head resting on my sand pillow. I breathed in sync with the waves and as I looked out to see it seemed neverending. Expecatations, goals and deadlines filled my head.
Its always good to set yourself goals and ambitions but not depend on them to the point where you feel like you’re drowning because they’re unaccomplished. To ask and know you will receive is the way it should be but I’ll be the first to say its not an easy thing to do. You must always ask what you want with your whole heart and believe you will get it, if there are doubts you have to ask again with full faith. As I looked up at the clear blue sky I whispered to Allah, “You know what I want and I know you will only give me what’s good for me.” with that came so much release. Every time I exhaled I released my negativity, I felt each wave touch me and carry my worries millions of miles away with it.
Sometimes we get impatient but we have to remember that once we’ve put our dreams, wishes and desires out there, they will be answered if they’re meant for us. If not, we have to put faith in God or the Universe or whatever Ultimate Power you believe in to guide us to our chosen path.
As I lay there I realised just how much I love the ocean, the sound of the waves splashing and somersaulting. I grabbed handfuls of sand and squeezed it out of my hands like clay. The waves raced to fill the holes I’d made and I lay there smiling, because I could 🙂
