Coppa Club by Tower Bridge has 8 beautiful pop-up Igloos outside their restaurant along the Thames which are super cosy on a cold Winter night.
London is always an exciting city, I am not just being biased because its home but I really think you are spoilt for choice. Not only is there so much to do, but then you have exclusive pop-ups that appear for a short time.
A friend mentioned the Igloo’s but said they are fully booked and sure enough if you go to the website they state that they are no longer taking bookings. They do however save a few walk-in slots and our party of 7 got lucky as a group cancelled so we got an igloo all to ourselves.
The igloo’s are really cosy inside with sheepskin blankets and warm lighting. You get gorgeous river-side views of the shard you are sheltered from the wind and get heaters inside to make it extra cosy. Their is also a speaker so you can listen to music while sipping on a cocktail.
I had a great time, I know they are closing soon but I can’t seem to find dates anywhere for how long they are there till. If you are in the area, they are definitely worth checking out. You get a 2 hour limit although they are so comfy you won’t wanna leave!
This post is a little over due but better late then never I always say! When I lived in London I used to attend the Notting Hill Carnival almost every year as a teen. This year the Notting Hill Carnival celebrated its 50th year! It’s the biggest street festival in Europe celebrating Caribbean cultures and traditions on the August bank holiday weekend.
This feast of colour and soca rhythms began in the early 19th century when the abolition of slavery was celebrated in Trinidad. I wandered the colourful streets, every few metres the music changed and the speakers are so loud on each float that it drowns out any nearby music while you are next to it. The costumes are vibrant and beautiful and the smell of jerk chicken sizzling on the barbecues lining the streets is mouth-watering. The wide variety of Caribbean dishes makes the carnival a foodies paradise, it is definitely worth checking out the traditional street food. Check out my Carnival Gallery:
I was Instagramming the other day and I came across a beautiful building which was geotagged in London and then I realised it was St. Pauls Cathedral. Being a Londoner its kind of shocking that I have never been, pictures are not allowed inside the building which is why I didn’t recognise it but then I saw a few more so I wondered why so many people had pics inside!
I went on their website to discover they were doing something called “St. Pauls Lates” where photographers were welcome between 6.00-8.30 on the 2nd and 3rd of September to pay £10 admission to see the Cathedral and Crypt and take some snaps (its usually £18) I read this at 5pm on the last day of it and quickly grabbed my cam and jumped on the underground! When I got there the queue was unbelievable…around the block! I saw another entrance on the other side so I went to ask and they let me in! YAAAY! Its so beautiful, here are a few of my snaps:
Many of us are guilty of not getting enough sleep, we have early mornings and long days at work followed by late nights causing us to induce a beauty hangover. Dull tired skin, puffy eyes and dehydration. I have found an instant remedy: Hangover is a primer made of coconut water, probiotics and skin revivers which work together to improve tired and dull skin while locking down make-up for a fresh and optimal result. It can be worn alone for a healthy looking finish, or under bronzers, foundations and powders to create the perfect canvas.
100% of users claimed their skin was more hydrated and looked as though they had a full night sleep. 8 hours after use they claimed skin looks more radiant and make up glided on more easily. It is really important to have hydrated skin, one of my clients once told me she find blending really difficult although it looks really easy online. After looking at how dry her skin was I explained that the product was just soaking into her skin making blending a nightmare, that is when makeup can look really patchy and visible. It is so important to always use a moisturiser and primer, the make up sits above the primer and literally glides on making it look much more even and natural.
Hangover contains probiotics and revivers to:
- Moisturise and illuminate the skin
- Improve the skin’s elasticity and tone
- Soothe and smooth skin
- Provide all the benefits of a primer
After having been unavailable in the Middle East for 2 years, you can finally get your hands on Hangover again exclusively at Sephora for 149 dhs.
If you find yourself having too many late nights and early mornings, you can find your eyes looking puffy and tired. Clinique have developed a product that will leave your eyes feeling soothed and looking refreshed with a quick snap, pop and swipe.
The tube has a spherical applicator which you can massage the product on with, in just 3 seconds the eyes should look wide awake. I tried the product and it had a very lightweight, cooling and hydrating texture. I felt an immediate difference in my skin and I really liked the texture, it is very hydrating which is great for the skin around our eyes. The seven peptides in the product help maintain collagen to get rid of those tell-tale signs of fatigue.
Caffeine reduces puffiness while the algae extract soothes the skin. The product is packed full of natural extracts to get those eyes refreshed and diminish dark circles.
The pep-start eye cream will be available exclusively to Sephora Middle East from the beginning of March for 154 AED.
I met this amazing girl Shantel Payne in India 3 years ago who I ended up travelling with and taking back to Dubai. She was really ill when I met her and between our adventures we spent lots of time making hospital visits. She has Ulcerative Colitis and after trying countless treatments had to get a colostomy bag.
I saw her go through some really hard days and she always laughed everything off even though I know she was suffering…she has always had a wonderful positive spirit which I think masked half of what she went through. She is smart, hilarious and just an amazing girl and after spending so much time with her she felt like a little sister to me.
Since her op, she is turning her life around and this year she plans to walk the great wall of China which is a challenge for anyone but particularly with her condition, her muscles are weaker and she is gonna have to work twice as hard. She is raising money to help other people with Crohns disease and Ulcerative Collitis and today is her birthday so it would be amazing if you could help her reach her target and donate to her cause here because nobody deserves it more!! If you can’t donate you can still follow her incredible story by clicking here.

Crab Tavern just launched a new menu and I was SO excited to sample it. As I walked in I sensed a strong London vibe and the manager told me the concept was born there. It was casual with a really nice energy about it and the views were great.
We began with the Seafood and Crab Platter which was enormous! It had prawns, calamari, crab legs, claws and potted crab. When I saw it I knew it would be a really fun plate of food for us to eat, one that you just have to get stuck into and lots of dips and different things to try. It was absolutely delicious, the crab was fresh and cooked to perfection and I wrestled with my King Crab until only the shell remained. It was the best crab I have had in Dubai and if I went back that platter would definitely be what I ordered, everything was fresh, simple and delicious.
For mains we went for the soft shell crab burger and the fish and chips, the burger was too fishy for my liking but the fish and chips were golden, crispy and just like they should be, a taste of home.
Dessert time came and we couldn’t decide so they brought us a trio of desserts which were all unbelievable but the pecan tart was definitely the one!
If you are looking for some great, simple, fresh seafood and a fun night out, I would highly recommend Crab Tavern in the Media One Hotel.
I have had my eye on this bag since I saw it at the Call It Spring SS15 launch and both times I went to get it, it was out of stock and then last week I was in Abu Dhabi and I saw it AND it was on sale!!! See…everything happens for a reason. I love it, tassels are all the rage this season and I love that it’s a backpack because let’s face it cute backpacks are rare. Wooooooooohoooooo!
Katrin has amazing blue eyes and I wanted to make them really stand out or “pop” as we call it in the make-up world. She has a beautiful smile and I wanted to sculpt her cheeks so I did a soft contour as her features are already pretty defined. Its important to always recognize features and face shapes and do what works. A strong contour would make her face look very harsh so I blended a medium brown into the hollows of her cheeks which really drew our her dimples and above that put a peachy blush and highlight to soften it. I slightly contoured her nose and added a highlight down the centre.
Brown eye-shadow really makes blue eyes stand out so I played with bronze tones on her eyes and lined with a brown liner. Since I wanted her eyes to be the focal point of this look I finished with a nude gloss on her lips.
