The Vista Bar at the Intercontinental, Festival City is hosting a Fiesta de Tapas every Saturday. The spread includes an oyster bar, ceviche station, cold cuts, various tapas dishes, made to order tacos and an array of cheese and desserts. The delicious spread is accompanied by live musicians in a beautiful setting overlooking the Dubai Creek.
Vista Bar and Terrace is a glass restaurant full of light with stunning views. The food spread is refreshing with it being small but really good quality. I am so sick of going to huge Dubai buffets with hundreds of average dishes. Fiesta de Tapas is all you need, a small curated selection of food made with fresh delicious ingredients. My favourite was the ceviche station, you can make your own with scallops, prawns and a variety of fish and choose what they add to it. I also loved the small tapas selections, the prawns and bread canapes were delicious.
I eat with my eyes and I love good presentation and that was another big pull for me at Fiesta de Tapas. The stations are beautifully styled and I loved the cheese spread with floating grapes. The desserts were also pretty good, I liked the caramel eclair the most and the mini ice-cream cones. The band were from Colombia and sang really well, a mixture of classics and new spanish songs which added to the great atmosphere. If you stick around until 7pm you have the perfect view of the light and water show where you will see a hologram dancer pirouetting to the music just below where you dine!
Fiesta de Tapas is priced at 150 AED without alcohol and 250 AED with alcohol. Already a reasonable price for this type of setup but definitely good value when you taste the quality of the dishes. I can’t wait to go back! For more info visit www.diningdfc.com
The W-Hotel has landed in Dubai and we went down to try the new seafood restaurant called Sea-Me. It is a buffet style restaurant with the biggest spread of seafood that I have ever seen! Oyster Bar, Lobsters on ice, Scallops galore and the most delectable seafood Paella!
We began at the oyster bar with ceviche which is all served on a conveyor belt so it keeps coming! There is a pink coloured ceviche which was to die for, it was marinated in passion fruit juice and the combination was incredible, flavours I had never imagined together but they were perfect
I did try an oyster and the salsa they drizzle on is tasty but I am just not an oyster person, I don’t like the texture. There are some beautiful canapes in the fridge which were all delicious but my favourite were the scallops and salmon with caviar.
For mains we went to the cold food bar which had lobster, crab and various prawns. The king prawns and lobster with apple chunks were my favourite. It was all extremely fresh and chilled in ice. Then we went over to the hot food and tried the Paella and Lobster rice, the Lobster rice reminded me of one of my grandmas dishes, it was so comforting and homely. At the live cooking station I tried the fresh scallops, red mullet and red snapper, the snapper was under-seasoned and the red mullet was over cooked but the scallops were cooked to perfection.
The desserts were divine! The choux pastry puffs with chocolate were my favourite, they were like an explosion of happiness in your mouth and the ice cream station is fun as you can add your own toppings. The rest of the desserts weren’t amazing but that probably had something to do with the fact that I was bursting at the seams.
The buffet is priced at 295 and drinks are billed separately, I would 100% go back, it is hands down the best selection of seafood I have ever seen in Dubai and well worth your money!
Dear Diary, I am on the beautiful island of Hvar, I got the catamaran here from Split, it takes about an hour. It’s a yachties paradise and a party animals kryptonite, this island does not sleep. Not only is it famed for the night life and beach parties, it also has some of the most beautiful […]

Nestled on the palm at the waters edge, Senara has the most idyllic location and the sunset makes for some great dinnertime viewing. The concept is homegrown in the UAE and the chef brings a British flair to the menu.
Senara’s signature dishes include an array of fresh fish dishes daily. We tried the delicious fish & chips and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and the batter had a delectable crunch, accompanied by mushy peas and chips. Had it not been for the paradisical setting I would have felt right at home. The menu boasts buckets of muscles and oysters and a mouth-watering lobster linguini. We sampled the desserts and they were all delicious, especially the baked cheesecake and if you have a real sweet-tooth then the sticky date pudding is a worthy treat.
You can find Senara at Palm Views West (If you are following Google Maps, enter Palm Views as the saved location as Senara was incorrect.) For table reservations call 04 451 6460
Crab Tavern just launched a new menu and I was SO excited to sample it. As I walked in I sensed a strong London vibe and the manager told me the concept was born there. It was casual with a really nice energy about it and the views were great.
We began with the Seafood and Crab Platter which was enormous! It had prawns, calamari, crab legs, claws and potted crab. When I saw it I knew it would be a really fun plate of food for us to eat, one that you just have to get stuck into and lots of dips and different things to try. It was absolutely delicious, the crab was fresh and cooked to perfection and I wrestled with my King Crab until only the shell remained. It was the best crab I have had in Dubai and if I went back that platter would definitely be what I ordered, everything was fresh, simple and delicious.
For mains we went for the soft shell crab burger and the fish and chips, the burger was too fishy for my liking but the fish and chips were golden, crispy and just like they should be, a taste of home.
Dessert time came and we couldn’t decide so they brought us a trio of desserts which were all unbelievable but the pecan tart was definitely the one!
If you are looking for some great, simple, fresh seafood and a fun night out, I would highly recommend Crab Tavern in the Media One Hotel.
